Brick House maduro robusto cigar review

Construction

As i ran my fingers across the Brick House maduro I could feel a vein running from the foot to approximately middle of the cigar. The vein was not the big kind you know from start will cause a uneven burn, it was the kind you just hope won’t make the cigar burn uneven. Besides from the vein the cigar was perfect in all ways, firmly rolled with a thick oily feeling to it.

Band impression

The feeling I got from the Brick House maduro robusto was as it was created to be some kind of house Blend, not as a cigar ment to be sold on ordinarie cigar shops.

Size Of Brick House maduro robusto

The vitola we reviewed was a robust 5 x54. (Approximately 21,4mm x 127mm)

Blend

The wrapper of the Brick House maduro was a beautiful Arapiraca Brazilian maduro wrapper, the Binder and filler was both from Nicaragua

Wrapper: Brazil – Binder: Nicaragua – Filler: Nicaragua

Scent

The wrapper had a classic sent of farmyard,  the scent of the filler was a little more pleasant and i could smell shades of chocolate.

Cold draw

The cold draw of Brick House maduro robusto provided me with flavors of oats and malt.

1/3 Lets light up the Brick House maduro robusto

After lighting the Brick House Maduro Robusto, I was greeted with a rich and creamy texture, a texture that can satisfy most palettes. The most prominent flavors I felt were Leather, Nuttiness, Tulip-like Florality, Hay and a sweetness that reminded of a combination of brown sugar and honey. In the background, the cigar gave off flavors of herbs and citrus that lifted the overall impression in an incredibly good way. The retrohalation was smooth and the nuances I felt were cedar and white pepper. It’s quite hard to explain but the first third of the cigar felt incredibly fresh in some way.

2/3 A complexity emerged

As I stepped into the second third of the Brick House maduro a lighter complexity emerged. The texture was still creamy but not rich as earlier. Most of the flavors were still there but had changed character. In the front i felt shades of hay, leather, brown sugar-like sweetness, general florality, roasted nuts, coffee and wood that went towards cedar. The Secondary flavors were the once that showed most changed in character, i felt shades of general fruitiness, butter, freshly picked herbs and cacao powder. The retrohale was still smooth and I felt shades of general wood.

3/3 Lets see how the Brick House maduro finishes

As I stepped into the last third the Brick House maduro showed a new side and finished the smoking experience in a wonderful way. Yet again (unfortunately) textur changed a bit and became a bit lighter. It almost became a bit to light compared to the first and second third. The flavors that emerged were espresso, coffee beans, leather, dark woody nuances, hay and saltiness. To lift the cigar there were flavors of brown sugar-like sweetness, dark berries, herbs, fruitiness, cacao, citrus peel and classic tobacco in the background. The retrohale was not smooth as earlier and slightly tickled my nose, i felt shades of wood in the rethrohale.

After taste

The aftertaste of the cigar was quite nice. The Brick House maduro robusto didn’t offer only the classic walnut flavor but also shades of cacao.

Draw

The draw was neither loose or tight, it was perfect from start to finish.

The cigar burned incredibly evenly to the second third were it needed to be corrected a couple of times. After about half way through the second third it burned evenly again as nothing had happened.
