It’s not difficult to understand why the Perdomo 30th Anniversary Connecticut earns its place at 90 points. The cigar presents itself with refinement and depth — a Connecticut that surprises with more character than the wrapper might suggest.
From the first third, there’s a creamy texture laced with soft fruit tones and a hint of citrus brightness, almost lime-like in its acidity. As the smoke develops, a gentle nuttiness unfolds, followed by layers of toasted oak and supple leather that add warmth and structure. The draw is steady, the burn line precise, and the aroma elegantly sweet throughout.
What keeps it from climbing higher isn’t in the flavor, but in the form. Advertised as box-pressed, the sample appeared more rounded — closer to a traditional parejo than the promised shape. A minor detail perhaps, but one that subtly detracts from the presentation expected of a 30th Anniversary edition.
Still, when it comes to balance, smooth transitions, and that signature Perdomo polish, this cigar delivers exactly what seasoned smokers look for — consistency, craftsmanship, and a smoke that never stops evolving on the palate.
