Perdomo BBA Connecticut robusto

Perdomo BBA Connecticut robusto

I can’t remember if I have every smoked a Perdomo cigar with a bad construction or that have head a uneven glow. This cigar was not a exception. To be honest I think they are cheap if we compare price vs quality in construction and taste.

Construction

The band around the cigar had Perdomo’s classic design. A design that made me think of a luxurious big ranch with cattle running free on pastures. Sitting on the open porch after a long day at the ranch and unwinding with the luxurious flavors of the cigar. The wrapper had that nice oily feeling that is smooth and leaves a slightly oily feeling on the fingtips. There were no soft or hard parts to indicate that it would be plugged or glow unevenly. The wrapper was almost as if glued, perfect and thight against the binder.

Taste

Smell and cold draw

The wrapper had a dominant scent of hay with light fruitiness, while the filler smelled of hay. I took a few drags before roasting and felt hints of hay.

1/3 of Perdomo BBA Connecticut robusto

To be honest, I was not prepared for the flavors the cigar brought. It quickly proved itself to be a masterpiece. The texture was smooth and buttery with a slight hint of creaminess. The buttery texture made the feeling in the mouth not become dry as with many other cigars, it was a smooth feeling. There was a fruitiness mixed with florality that went in the direction of the tulip. I felt the classic hay taste. There was a taste that filled me with pure joy and which I can only believe is due to the Bourbon barrels. The flavor that gave me extra joy was a sweet citrus nuance reminiscent of citrus caramel. There was a unique nuttiness to the cigar, one that I rarely feel nuances of. The nuttiness that met my taste buds I can’t describe in any other way than that it reminded me of pistachio nuts. The rethrohalation tickled my nose a little and reminded me of white pepper.

2/3 The joy with Perdomo BBA Connecticut continues

The texture changed a bit and the buttery texture receded a bit leaving more room for the creaminess. The nice smooth feel that made the cigar not leave a dry feeling remained. The fruitiness and floweriness that was reminiscent of the tulip from before was still there, but took up more space on the taste buds than in the first third. The hay taste got a little darker. The hint of citrus was still there but the acidity receded a bit. It came in a fresh taste of cedar that balanced out all the sweetness from before. There was a certain maltiness that heightened the moment. The nuttiness that made mine happy before was still there. The nuttiness that was reminiscent of pistachio nuts.

3/3 the end of Perdomo BBA Connecticut robusto

I love the changes in texture on this cigar. The buttery texture receded and complemented the creamier texture now. Not often can you feel this combination of different textures in a cigar, at least not in this way.The fruitiness was still there but not nearly as sweet as in the rest of the cigar. The floral style was more tulip than before. The cedar flavor I felt before was almost gone and had been replaced by flavor nuances of oak. There was a light taste that reminded me of espresso. What’s interesting is that the citrus hue was still there now at the end. The citrus taste was not nearly as sour, you could say that the acidity was almost completely gone.Towards the end of the cigar there came in a taste I can only describe that it reminded me of white bread.

After taste

Light shade walnuts that do not linger for a long time.

Body

The cigar had a body that was mild.

Smoke time

It took about 45 minutes to smoke Perdomo BBA conneticut robusto

Conclusion

Perdomo BBA connecticut robusto is beginner friendly with smooth flavors and mild body. The construction was flawless and the glow was even. Comparing price vs taste, I got a lot of quality for the money.
