Construction
The feeling I got from the band was like it was going to be an evil flavor bomb. Like something out of a movie, a revolution where firebombs fly through the air and riots fill the streets. The impression i felt was wrong, it was not a evil flavor bomb, it was more like a well-balanced work of art.
The cigar was incredibly firm with a slightly dull feeling to it.
Wrapper: Habano – Filler: Nicaragua – Binder: Nicaragua
Scent and cold draw
The wrapper of the Gurkha pure evil had a lighter scent of fruitiness and chocolate while the filler had a scent of farmyard. The cold draw gave me flavors of oatmeal.
1/3 Lets light up the Gurkha pure evil robusto and see what it has to offer
The cigar presented a creamy texture with a hint of butteriness. The dominant flavors i felt where sweet earthiness, woodiness and general spices. In the background there were shades of citrus peel, general sweetness and a lighter shade of cacao. The retrohale tickled my nose a bit and gave shades of general peppery nuances. Towards the end of the first third a interesting flavor of herbs came in to the mix.
2/3 The cigar showed a lighter complexity
The texture was creamy and the dominant flavors I felt were a combination of fresh and dried herbs, general spiciness, hay, woodiness and leather. In the background were flavors of nuttiness, honey-like sweetness, cacao and raisins. The retrohalation tickled my nose a little and gave nuances of spiciness and hay.
3/3 lets see how the cigar ends
As I entered the last third of Gurkha Pure Evil, the flavors changed a bit. The texture was creamy as before and the flavors I felt were breadiness, nuttiness, woodiness, leather and ground dark roasted coffee beans. In the background were flavors of spice, herbs and nutmeg. The retrohalation was smooth and gave nuances of hay and woodiness.
After taste
General nuttiness and woodiness
Body
Medium bordering on full
Smoke time
60 minutes
Conclusion
Grukha pure evil is a cigar with a good balance of flavors. It doesn’t have too many flavors, but offers enough complexity to keep the taste buds alert. The body that is medium on the verge of full makes it suitable for the slightly more experienced aficionados. If I compare price vs taste vs quality, I think it is where it should be.
