Drew Estate blackened M81 maduro toro cigar review

Lighting the cigar and being bathed in the flavors it offered was an experience beyond the ordinary.

Construction

The cigar had a silky oily feeling to it and had a flawless construction with out any veins.

Wrapper: San Andres Mexico – Binder: Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro – Filler: USA and Nicaragua

Scent and cold draw

There was no particular scent that i could feel, but the cold draw was amazing. I cut the cigar and the flavors where delightful and i decided to enjoy them a while longer then i usually do before lighting the cigar. The flavors i felt were incredibly sweet fruitiness and milkiness.

1/3 Lets light up the Drew Estate blackened M81 maduro and enjoy the show.

The texture was creamy and at the same time buttery, giving it a smooth and rich feeling. The flavors where prominent and at the same time balanced. The flavors i helt where cedar wood, raisins and a combination of cacao and milk chocolate. In the background I felt shades of cayenne pepper, fruitiness, anise and a nuttiness that went towards sweet almonds. The retrohale was incredibly smooth and offered different shades of wood.

2/3 The blackened M81 just keeps getting better

As I got in to the second third of the Drew Estate blackened s81 maduro toro the texture changed a bit and was now only creamy.  The flavors that emerged where smooth like silk and enjoyable. The first flavors that crossed my palette where a combination of cedar wood and classic wood, general nuttiness, strangely enough coffee with cream topped with chocolate (extremely hard to put in words), general fruitiness, anise, cacao and raisins. In the background there was a slightly bitter flavor that reminded of orange peel. The retrohale was still smooth and presented me with shades of cedar wood.

3/3 The cigar continues to surprise

Blackened s81 was in a way like an after-dinner dessert from start to finish. In the last third the chocolate nuances became dominant in a way that you almost thought it was a new cigar. The texture became a bit more rich and creamy and the flavors I got to enjoy were leather, dark chocolate mixed with nougat, orange peel, espresso with a bit of brown sugar, leather and general woodiness. In the background there were nuances of dark berries and milkiness. The retrohalation was smooth and gave woody nuances.

After taste

Walnuts and chocolate.

Body

Medium bordering on full

Smoke time

80 minutes

Conclusion

Drew Estate blackened M81 maduro toro is an incredibly smooth and complex cigar. From start to finish you are constantly visited by new flavors and textures that never make you bored. Although the body is on the medium borderline of full, it suits those who are curious about full-bodied cigars but have not had time to develop the palette for them yet. If I compare price vs taste vs quality, I think the cigar is low in price and you get more than what you pay for.
