Chateau Diadem Conviction Petit Belicoso review

Construction

I was a surprised by the construction of the Chateau Diadem Conviction Petit Belicoso when i opened the deliver box. The head was far more uneven then you would expect from a premium cigar and it had a hard lump near the head. The wrapper had a thick oily feeling to it.

Band impression

The band of Chateau Diadem Conviction Petit Belicoso gave me somehow a powerful impression, the castle and color combination of blue and red created a feeling that the cigar was created to be enjoyed by royalty.

Size of Chateau Diadem Conviction Petit Belicoso

The vitola we reviewed was a 4×55 Petit belicoso. (Lenght 101,5 mm, ring gauge 22mm). A great cigar size for shorter moments.

Blend

The Conviction Petit Belicoso from Chateau Diadem had a Ecuadorian Wrapper, Dominican binder and fillers from the Dominican and Nicaragua.

Scent and cold draw

Somthing i think was really interesting was the scent of the wrapper, the wrapper of Chateau Diadem Conviction Petit Belicoso had a scent reminiscent of florality, chocolate and a hint of citrus, a scent I rarely come across. The filler hade a almost classic scent of hay and coffee. The cold draw offered me flavor nuances of oats and maltiness.

Let’s light up Chateau Diadem Conviction Petit Belicoso

After I had lit up the Chateau Diadem Conviction Petit Belicoso the first thing that meet my palette was a creamy but yet oily texture. It was that kind of texture what don’t leave you palette dry and wishing you had a drink near by. The dominant flavors I felt from the conviction cigar was florality, general woodiness with a hint of cedar, leather, general nuttiness lighter hints of hazelnuts and cacao. In the background the cigar offered lighter shades of cinnamon, coffee, general pepperiness and a unique citrus flavor. The citrus flavor was extremely faint and strangely can not be described in any other way then it reminded me of a sweet citrus perfume. The rethrohale was smooth and I could detect nuances of wood and pepper.

After taste

The aftertaste of Chateau Diadem Conviction Petit Belicoso reminded me of walenut and a lighter hint of ground coffee beans.

Smoke time

Even though the Chateau Diadem Conviction was a Petit belicoso it gave approximately 45 minutes of smoking time.

Draw

As I mentioned in the beginning there was a hard lump by the head i thought would make the cigar feel plugged, luckily I was wrong. The Chateau Diadem Conviction had a great draw that was neither to hard or to thigt.

Burn quality

The burn line didn’t have to be corrected any time, it burned straight and evenly from the beginning until the end.

Body of Chateau Diadem Conviction Petit Belicoso

The Chateau Diadem Conviction Petit Belicoso had a medium body suitable for most cigar smokers.

Price of the cigar

The average price for the Chateau Diadem Conviction Petit Belicoso is approximately 12-14 dollars.

Conclusion

The Chateau Diadem Conviction Petit Belicoso is a semi-complex cigar with a medium body. Even though the cigar is of a smaller size it delivers enough flavors to keep your palette satisfied. The medium body of the Chateau Diadem Conviction Petit Belicoso makes its suitable for new cigar smokers and more experienced aficionados. If I compare price vs taste vs quality I think it is where it should be maybe a little low thanks to the unique citrus flavor.
