Is the cigar a work of art or is it just named after Michelangelo? For those who like earthy and “clean” flavors, it is a work of art without a doubt.
Construction
The cigar is named after the artist Michelangelo. There is no doubt that Michelangelo is one of the greatest artists of all time. Even those who do not know who he is have almost seen his art at one time or another. Known for his painting Sistine Chapel in the Vatican City and Creation of Adam. Creation of Adam has been reflected in film after film and is known to most people even if they do not know about the artist himself.

The El Septimo Michelangelo perfecto was firmly rolled and had a matte feeling to it.
Wrapper: Undisclosed – Binder: Ecuador – Filler: Dominican, Ecuador and Nicaragua
Scent and cold draw
The cigar had a scent of sweet ceder and a lighter shade of fruitiness. The cold draw gave me flavors of fruitiness, nougat chocolate and oat.
Lets light up the El Septimo Michelangelo perfecto and see what it has to offer
I lit the cigar and was greeted with a creamy texture with a slight hint of oiliness. What was incredibly interesting about the cigar was that the flavors felt “clean” compared to other cigars. It’s a bit hard to explain, but they were incredibly prominent and had a form of freshness to them. The dominant flavors I felt were general spiciness, leather, hay, cedar-like woodiness and cacao. In the background there were nuances of pine, herbs and saltiness. Retrohalation tickled my nose a little and the nuance I felt was woodiness.
After taste
Walnuts
Body
Medium bordering on full
Smoke time
50 minutes
Conclusion
El Septimos Michelangelo is a cigar that has an incredible balance between the flavors. It’s hard to explain but the flavors feel clean in some way. The body that is medium on the border of full makes it suitable for the Aficionados who are used to a little more body. If I compare price vs taste vs quality I think it is where it should be, possibly a little on the lower side.
