The cigar has a lovely complexity and allows the taste buds to enjoy the moment from start to finish.
Construction
The cigar was firm with out any veins and had a thicker oily feeling to it.
Wrapper: Undisclosed – Binder: Ecuador – Filler: Dominican, Ecuador and Nicaragua
Scent and cold draw
The cigar had a lighter scent of dark chocolate while the cold draw gave me flavors of oats.
1/4 Lets light up the El Septimo Van Gogh Diadema and see what it has to offer
The texture was slightly creamy, it was like a teaser on what was waiting. The flavors El Septimo Van Gogh Diadema had to offer was hay, cacao, general spiciness with a hint of white pepper, woodiness in the direction of cedar wood and anise. In the background there were flavors of raisins, milk chocolate, dried herbs and saltiness. The retrohale slightly tickled my nose and gave shades of white pepper.
2/4 Lets enjoy the complexity
The texture of the cigar grew a little and became a little bit creamier. The flavors changed in a smooth way, it was like riding a water stream that changes pace calm and slowly. The dominant flavors i felt were Chocolate combined with cocoa, nuttiness that went towards the direction of almonds, a sweetness reminiscent of raisins and cedar wood. In the background there were flavors of ground coffee, anise and a flavor i can’t described in another way then old fashion toffee candy. The retrohale became a little bit smoother and gave nuances of white pepper.
3/4 The El Septimo Van Gogh impressed me once more
The texture of El Septimo Van Gogh Diadema became a little bit creamier and grew once more. The flavors that i felt where Chocolate in the nougat direction, cacao, woodiness with a slight hint of leaves, general herbs and almonds. In the background there were flavors of anise, classic licorice and raisins. The retrohale was smooth and gave woody nuances with a slight hint of general spiciness.
4/4 Lets see how the El Septimo Van Gogh Diadema ends
I shouldn’t have been surprised by the cigar at this point, but I was. It offered an incredibly lovely finish.
The texture of El Septimo Van Gogh Diadema had now fully grown and was incredibly creamy. The flavors it offered were a lovely dessert of flavors. The flavors I felt were a woodiness that leaned towards oak, nougat, raisins, a combination of dark chocolate and cacao, dried herbs and salt liquorice. In the background were shades of vanilla sugar, old-fashioned caramel, ground coffee and almond. The retrohalation tickled my nose a little lightly and gave me shades that reminded me of an autumn leaf bonfire.
After taste
Woodiness
Body
Medium bordering on full
Smoke time
115 minutes
Conclusion
El Septimo Van Gogh is a cigar with incredibly lovely balance and complexity. Although the body is on the verge of full, it is so smooth that it suits even the slightly more inexperienced Aficionados. If I compare price vs taste vs quality I think you get a lot of cigar for the money and that it is a little underpriced.
