The cigar had a lighter complexity with earthy nuances. Unfortunately, I had to correct the glow of the cigar quite.
Construction
The cigar was slightly unevenly rolled with soft spots that i was afraid would couse the cigar to burn unevenly.
Wrapper: Nicaragua – Binder: Nicaragua – Filler: Nicaragua
Scent and cold draw
The wrapper had a scent of farmyard while the filler had a scent of chocolate and hay. The cold draw presented shades of chocolate and maltiness.
1/3 Lets light up the Joya De Nicaragua Rosalones reserva 550 robusto
The texture was slightly creamy and left a rather dry feeling in the mouth. The most dominant flavor was spiciness followed by earthiness, roasted nuts and general woodiness with hints of cedar. In the background there were nuances of anise and herbs. The retrohalation tickled my nose a bit and left woody nuances.
2/3 the cigar showed a minor complexity
As I approached the second third of the Joya de Nicaragua cigar, the texture became a little nicer and the dryness from before was almost gone, leaving a semi-creamy texture on the palette. The flavors became a little more balanced and no one stood out too much. The flavors the cigar offered were leather, anise, earthiness, woodiness, espresso and ground coffee beans. In the background were hints of herbs, salted roasted nuts and a light raisin-like sweetness. The retrohaling became a little smoother and still gave the same nuances as before, which was general woodiness.
3/3 How did the cigar finish?
The last third of the cigar was no flavor explosion but rounded off the moment in a good way. The texture became creamier than before and the flavors I felt were oaky woodiness, anise, espresso, cacao, leather, classic tobacco, nutmeg and earthiness. In the background there were flavors of raisin like sweetness and a flavor I thought was incredibly suitable for the cigar, the flavor was general floral. The retrohalation tickled my nose a little and gave nuances of woodiness and white pepper.
After taste
Tobacco and oak
Body
Medium
Smoke time
65 minutes
Conclusion
Unfortunately, the cigar failed in its construction and had to be corrected a lot during smoking. The flavors were very earthy and were balanced when you got to the second third of the cigar. Even though the body was medium, I think it suits the slightly more experienced aficionado who likes more full body and rough cigars. If I compare price vs. quality vs. taste, I think it is a bit high in price.
