Construction
The feeling I got when I held the cigar was a luxurious everyday cigar. The cigar was evenly and tightly rolled with a silky oily feel to it.
Wrapper: Ecuador – Binder: Dominican – Filler: Dominican and Nicaragua
Scent and cold draw
The wrapper had a scent of hay while the filler gave nuances of hay and florality. The cold draft was incredibly nice and worked almost like an appetizer, the flavors I felt were chocolate and general nuttiness.
1/3 Lets light up the PDR A. Flores 1975 Gran Reserva Desflorado Robusto
The texture was slightly creamy and the flavors I felt were general spiciness, florality and hay with a hint of grass. In the background were nuances of citrus, light nuttiness, saltiness and leather. The retrohalation tickled my nose and gave nuances of spiciness.
2/3 A smooth complexity
As I entered the second third of the PDR A. Flores 1975 Gran Reserva Desflorado Robusto cigar, it showed some complexity and brought some flavors with it. The texture became creamier and the flavors the cigar gave were spicy but a little lighter than before, Floral nuances, hay with a hint of grass, nuttiness and freshly picked herbs. The taste of herbs was surprisingly fresh and almost unique. In the background, the cigar gave flavors of fruitiness that went towards cherry, citrus and citrus peel, salty licorice and strangely enough a lighter shade of green chili without the heat of chili. The retrohalation became smoother but still tickled slightly, the nuances I felt were hay and spicy.
3/3 A wonderful way to end the cigar
The last third of the cigar ended the moment in an incredibly lovely way. The texture was creamier than before. The flavors I felt were Woodiness, Florality with a hint of tulip, herbs (but not as fresh as before), a mix of sweet and salty licorice, nuttiness and a general citrus flavor. In the background were flavors of Fruitiness that went towards cherry (A little more prominent than before), leather and hazelnut-like chocolate. The retrohalation was smooth and the nuances I felt were hay and strangely breadiness.
After taste
Walenuts and general nuttiness
Body
Mild bordering on medium
Smoke time
75 minutes
Conclusion
PDR A. Flores 1975 Gran Reserva Desflorado Robusto is a mild cigar with balanced flavors. The cigar has a balanced complexity and a body that makes it suitable for most aficionados. It can be smoked incredibly slowly without going out or the flavors being affected in a bad way. If I compare price vs taste vs quality I think it is cheap compared to what you get.
