A wonderful balanced cigar with lovely complexity
Construction
The PDR 1878 Capa Maduro Robusto cigar was tightly rolled with a slightly oily feel to it. The pig’s tail and the closed foot were a wonderful sight. The band around the cigar was a lovely detail but the impression I got was stronger and more powerful when I removed the purple band. I don’t know why but I got the feelings of a mighty knight in dark armor ready for battle.
Wrapper: Mexican – Binder: Dominican – Filler: Dominican

Scent and cold draw
The cigar had a scent of dark chocolate and hay while the cold draft gave me flavors of milkiness and chocolate flavors.
1/3 Lets light up the PDR 1878 Capa Maduro Robusto cigar to see what it has to offer
The texture was slightly creamy and the dominant flavors i felt were smooth earthiness, woodiness, leather and cacao. In the background there were flavors of vanilla bean, minerals, herbs and a honey-like sweetness. The retrohalation slightly tickled my nose and gave nuances of hay and spiciness.
2/3 when i came in to the second third of the cigar it showed a wonderful complexity
As i got i to the second third of the cigar it became a little bit creamier and provided me with flavors of chocolate, herbs, raisins, hay, minerals and a honey-like sweetness. In the background i found flavors of vanilla bean, nutmeg, caffe latte, leather, citrus peel and earthiness. The retrohale became a little smoother and provided me with shades of hay, spiciness and general sweetness.
3/3 Lets enjoy the last third of the PDR 1878 Capa Maduro Robusto cigar
The texture was creamy as in the second third. The flavors the cigar gave were sweet earthiness, dark chocolate, leather, raisins, coffee beans, nutmeg and a woodiness with a hint of cedar. In the background were shades of vanilla bean, cinnamon, herbs, caffe latte, minerals and a sweetness that is best described as a combination of brown sugar and honey. The flavors did not all come at once but it felt a bit like they were competing to be the most prominent. The retrohalation was smooth and gave shades of woodiness and a combination of white pepper and black pepper.
After taste
A combination of hay, dark chocolate and walenuts
Body
Medium
Smoke time

Conclusion
PDR 1878 Capa Maduro Robusto is a flavorful cigar with lovely complexity. The flavors are balanced without any that stand out too much. The body that is on medium makes it suitable for most aficionados. If I compare price vs taste vs quality I think you get a lot of cigar for the money.
