If you like powerful full-bodied cigars with earthy flavors, then the Tatuaje Black Corona Gorda might be the cigar for you. This cigar delivers bold flavors with attitude. The Black Gorda demands your attention and dedication.
Construction
The Tatuajes Black Corona Gorda had an almost unique shape considering it was a corona. It had a closed foot but what made it all interesting was that the top was shaped like a belicoso instead of the classic Parejo shape where it is slightly rounded.

The cigar was firm and evenly rolled with a slightly oily feeling to it.
Wrapper: Nicaragua – Binder: Nicaragua – Filler: Nicaragua
Scent and cold draw
The aroma and cold draw of Tatuaje Black Corona Gorda was quite classic. The aroma I felt was hay and the flavors of the cold draw were maltiness and oatmeal.
1/3 Lets light up the Tatuaje Black Corona Gorda
The cigar showed from the beginning that it was coming with power. The texture was creamy and dry at the same time, it quickly showed that it had a full body. The dominant flavors I felt were general spiciness with cinnamon that seeped through as a clear complement, cedar woodiness, general nuttiness and a combination of oats and hay. In the background as a complement to all the dominant flavors of the cigar were shades of citrus peel, cocoa and salty Graham crackers. The retrohalation tickled my nose and gave shades of cayenne pepper.
2/3 Lets see what the second third of the Tatuaje cigar has to offer
As I got into the second third, the creamy texture grew and became a bit richer than before. The dry feeling receded a bit but was still there but not as harsh. There was a pepperiness reminiscent of cayenne pepper followed by flavors of graham crackers, general woody flavors, roasted salted nuts, hay and cacao. In the background I could feel nuances of fir needles, dark syrup-like sweetness, hickory, classic tobacco and a flavor that I can’t describe other than dried parma ham. The retrohalation became a bit smoother and I felt woody nuances.
3/3 Let’s see how the cigar finishes.
I had expected the texture of the Tatuaje Black Corona Gorda to become creamier again but to my surprise the creaminess receded a bit. It was still creamy but reminded me of the first third, that is, it was slightly creamy and dry. The flavors the cigar presented were Oak, salted roasted nuts, ground dark roasted coffee beans, hickory, leather, earth, classic tobacco, general pepperiness and hay. In the background there were flavors of graham crackers, dark syrup-like sweetness, autumn leaves and marzipan. The retrohalation was smooth and I felt shades of dark woodiness.
After Taste
The aftertaste of the cigar was bitter, walnuts and hay.

Conclusion
The Tatuaje Black Corona Gorda is a complex cigar with attitude. The cigar is full-bodied and balanced between the flavors. There are no flavors that stand out too much. The cigar is well suited for the experienced afisionados who are used to full-bodied cigars and is not suitable for beginners. If I compare price vs taste vs quality, I think it is where it should be.
