It’s probably the first time I’ve been a little disappointed with a Davidoff cigar.
Construction
It’s the first time I’ve been a bit worried before lighting a Davidoff cigar. The top was incredibly uneven and the wrapper had large twigs, twigs that you could see would cause the glow line to become crooked. The twigs meant that I had to parry the cigar many times throughout the smoking session. Other than the twigs, the cigar was perfect. The wrapper had a slight oiliness to it.
Wrapper: Ecuador – Binder: Dominican – Filler: Dominican
Taste
Smell and cold draw
The wrapper smelled of hay and fruitiness while the filler smelled of chocolate and farm. That is, a mixture of hay, grass and leather. The cold draft gave flavors of hay, fruitiness and a malty nuance.
Lets se what Davidoff Mellennium short Robusto has to offer
I slowly roasted the cigar and was met with a malty texture with a lighter creaminess. The flavors that came through were together from the beginning to the end of the cigar. The flavors shifted a little between the puffs, which was incredibly nice. The flavors that emerged were cedar and general woodiness, sweet licorice, a general fruitiness with light notes oddly reminiscent of pear, light espresso, a vanilla-like sweetness and leather. What I think was quite unique and really lovely was that between the puffs there was a nuttiness reminiscent of pistachio nuts. The retrohalation was difficult to put into words, the easiest is a mixture of white, black and cayenne pepper. The flavors were incredible and nice. What I think was difficult was that I had to parry the glow often and that for a while it glowed inwards instead of evenly.
After taste
The aftertaste was a delight in itself. It wasn’t long but tasty and almost unique. The shades Davidoff Mellennium left behind were a mix of nuttiness and dark chocolate.
Body
The body was medium on the verge of full.
Smoke time
The cigar could be smoked quite slowly. 55 minutes.
Conclusion
In terms of taste, incredibly good and prominent flavors.
Medium to full body that suits more seasoned smokers. The aftertaste was a bit unique and enhanced the experience. The construction was disappointing, the twigs that made you have to parry so often detracted from the joy. If we compare price, quality and taste, I would like to say that this one was expensive. We’ll see if the next one is better.
