Updated August 2026 · 14 lounges and tobacconists · Compiled by Peter Stefanic, Certified Cigar Sommelier (IACS)
Colorado Springs punches well above its weight. The city is less than half the size of Denver but has three cigar rooms with more than 690 reviews each, and its two largest tobacconists hold humidors that regulars rate above anything in the state capital. Part of that is the military: Fort Carson, Peterson and the Air Force Academy put a lot of cigar smokers in one place.
The same Colorado law applies here as in Denver — only cigar bars operating before 2005 and qualifying tobacco retailers may allow smoking indoors — but the Springs got in early, and what exists is unusually good.
Every venue here is a cigar business first — a lounge, a cigar bar or a tobacconist with a real humidor. General smoke and vape shops are left out.

FAQ
Yes, in qualifying venues. Colorado’s Clean Indoor Air Act permits smoking in cigar bars that were operating before 2005 and in retail tobacco businesses that earn most of their revenue from tobacco. The Springs has more of these per head than Denver, which is why a city of this size supports several substantial lounges.
At a couple of venues, yes — a small monthly or annual fee for the lounge, with the shop itself open to everyone. The private club downtown admits non-members in practice. Most rooms charge nothing beyond the cigar. Ask at the counter.
Where there is bar service, tip as you would anywhere: fifteen to twenty per cent. At a shop counter, a few dollars if someone has walked you through the humidor. Several shops in the region now show a tipping prompt on straightforward retail purchases; there is no obligation on those.
Yes. Colorado set the tobacco purchase age at 21 and venues card at the door, often immediately on entry. Bring identification.
Before you go: opening hours, prices and policies change, and businesses close without notice. Check the venue’s own website or call ahead before travelling. Listings here are compiled from public business records and are provided for guidance only.
