Cigar Lounges & Shops in Dallas

Updated August 2026 · 48 lounges and tobacconists · Compiled by Peter Stefanic, Certified Cigar Sommelier (IACS)

Dallas has more cigar rooms than any city in Texas, and they are spread thin. The oldest cluster sits inside the loop around Oak Lawn and Greenville Avenue. The newest and largest are north, along the Dallas Parkway through Addison, Plano and Frisco, where a lounge is as likely to have a kitchen and a membership tier as a humidor. Out east in Rockwall and Rowlett, and south through Cedar Hill and Waxahachie, the rooms get smaller, cheaper and more social.

This page covers Dallas County and the ring around it. Fort Worth and Arlington are on their own page. Every entry is marked Lounge, Shop, or both, so you know before you drive whether you can sit down and smoke or you are buying and leaving.

Featured listing — this space is available. A featured listing puts your lounge at the top of this page, above every other lounge in Dallas, and includes a photograph, a full description instead of a single line, a direct link to your website and Instagram, and placement above all standard listings. Can you smoke cigars indoors in Dallas?

Yes. Texas has no statewide smoking ban, and Dallas city ordinance exempts tobacco retailers and cigar bars from its indoor smoking rules. Suburban ordinances differ slightly across the metro area, but in practice a business that sells cigars as its main trade will let you smoke on the premises. Venues attached to restaurants are the exception and often restrict smoking to a patio.

What is a cutting fee, and should you expect to pay one?

A cutting fee is what a lounge charges to let you smoke a cigar you did not buy there. It typically runs from five to twenty dollars, and it covers the seat, the ashtray, the ventilation and the staff time you are using. Some Dallas lounges waive it if you buy drinks; others do not permit outside cigars at all. Ask when you arrive rather than at checkout — that is the single most common way visitors get caught out.

How much should you tip at a cigar lounge?

If someone guides you through the humidor, cuts and lights for you, or serves drinks, tip as you would in a bar: fifteen to twenty per cent, or a few dollars for a quick purchase. Buying only over the counter with no service needs no tip. Regulars who tip consistently tend to get the better chairs and the first call on limited releases, which is worth knowing if you plan to return.

Are cigar lounge memberships worth it in Dallas?

It depends how often you go. Several rooms in the northern suburbs run annual memberships that include a private lounge, a locker for your own cigars, and discounts on purchases. If you visit weekly and store boxes, that usually pays for itself. If you go once a month, the day-pass or public seating available at most of the same venues will serve you better. Fees vary widely, so ask what is actually included before signing.

Is there a dress code at Dallas cigar lounges?

Almost never. Smart casual is the norm and shorts are fine in summer at most rooms. The exceptions are lounges attached to steakhouses and the handful of private clubs, where the restaurant’s dress code applies. If you are heading somewhere for dinner as well as a smoke, check the restaurant’s rules rather than the lounge’s.

Do you have to be 21 to enter a cigar lounge in Texas?

Yes. The legal age to buy or possess tobacco in Texas is 21, and lounges card at the door. Military personnel born before a specific date are exempt under state law, but venues apply this inconsistently, so bring identification either way.

Which parts of Dallas have the most cigar lounges?

Three clusters. Inside the loop around Oak Lawn, Deep Ellum and Greenville Avenue. The northern corridor from Addison up through Plano and Frisco, which has the newest and largest rooms. And an eastern ring through Rockwall, Rowlett and Mesquite where the venues are smaller and generally cheaper. Fort Worth and Arlington are covered on a separate page.

Before you go: opening hours, prices and policies change, and businesses close without notice. Check the venue’s own website or call ahead before travelling. Listings here are compiled from public business records and are provided for guidance only.
