Cigar Lounges & Shops in Phoenix & Scottsdale

Updated August 2026 · 49 lounges and tobacconists · Compiled by Peter Stefanic, Certified Cigar Sommelier (IACS)

The Valley of the Sun has an unusually good cigar scene for its size, and the reason is the weather. Nine months of the year you can smoke outdoors comfortably, so almost every lounge here has a serious patio — misted in summer, heated in winter — rather than treating outdoor seating as an afterthought. The other half of the picture is Scottsdale, where a concentration of money has produced humidors that hold rare boxes you would otherwise have to go to Miami or New York to find.

This page covers the whole metro area, from Cave Creek and Anthem down to Queen Creek and west to Buckeye. Every entry is marked Lounge, Shop, or both.

Every venue here is a cigar business first — a lounge, a cigar bar or a tobacconist with a real humidor. General smoke and vape shops are left out.

Featured listing — this space is available. A featured listing puts your lounge at the top of this page, above every other lounge in Phoenix, and includes a photograph, a full description instead of a single line, a direct link to your website and Instagram, and placement above all standard listings. FAQ

Can you smoke cigars indoors in Phoenix?

Yes, in the right venues. The Smoke-Free Arizona Act bans indoor smoking in most public places but exempts retail tobacco stores. That is why nearly every cigar room in the Valley is a shop first with a lounge attached, and why a normal bar cannot simply add a cigar section. It also means you will almost never find a cigar lounge inside a restaurant here.

Is the patio really where you want to sit in Arizona?

For most of the year, yes. Valley lounges invest heavily in outdoor space because the climate allows it: misting systems and shade in summer, heaters and fire tables from November through March. Several venues have more seating outside than in. In July and August the indoor rooms are the better choice, and that is the one time of year they fill up.

What is a cutting fee, and should you expect to pay one in Phoenix?

A cutting fee is the charge for smoking a cigar you did not buy on the premises. In the Valley it is less common than in most US cities — many venues simply ask that you buy something, whether a cigar or a drink. Where a fee applies it typically runs from five to fifteen dollars. Ask when you arrive.

How much should you tip at a cigar lounge?

Where there is bar or table service, tip as you would anywhere: fifteen to twenty per cent. At a shop counter, a few dollars if someone has walked you through the humidor and cut for you. In a room where you have occupied a chair all afternoon without ordering, tipping is what keeps you welcome.

Do you have to be 21 to enter a cigar lounge in Arizona?

Yes. Arizona set the tobacco purchase age at 21 and venues card at the door. Bring identification.

Before you go: opening hours, prices and policies change, and businesses close without notice. Check the venue’s own website or call ahead before travelling. Listings here are compiled from public business records and are provided for guidance only.
