Perdomo 30th Anniversary epicure cigar review

The cigar was incredibly nice with a lovely complexity.

Construction

The band around the Perdomo 30th Anniversary epicure gave me a strong sense of celebration. I don’t know why but I could imagine sitting at a long table filled with friends while a mariachi band comes in with their happy rhythms while the cigar is lit. The cigar was evenly rolled but not firm, it had a semi-soft feel to it.  The wrapper had a slightly oily feel to it.

Wrapper: Ecuador – Binder: Nicaragua – Filler: Nicaragua

Smell and cold draw

The wrapper of Perdomo 30th Anniversary epicure had a scent combination of hay, farm and nuttiness.  I can’t describe the filler in any other way than that it smelled like a mixture of hay, chocolate, light vanilla and light fruitiness.  The cold draft was incredibly nice and gave nuances of chocolate, maltiness and a lighter shade of nuttiness.

1/3 Lets light up the Perdomo 30th Anniversary epicure to see what it has to offer

After I had lit the Perdomo 30th Anniversary epicure cigar, I was greeted by an incredibly delicious creamy texture.  The dominant flavors I felt were nuttiness in the direction of peanut, hay, general spiciness and white pepper, woodiness and florality.  In the background there were shades of brewed coffee, chocolate and a sweetness reminiscent of a combination of honey and caramel.  The retrohalation really tickled and gave nuances of white pepper.  The cigar could be smoked incredibly slowly.

2/3 lets enjoy the second third of the Perdomo 30th Anniversary epicure

As I got into the second third of the cigar, the texture became a bit creamier and carried a hint of butteriness. The flavors I felt were coffee latte, nuttiness reminiscent of peanut butter, crackers, woodiness and floral. The floral taste was reminiscent of the first third but it emerged a little more. In the background were shades of leather, salty licorice, chocolate and a vanilla sugar-like sweetness. The retrohalation really tickled the nose and gave nuances of white pepper with a hint of woodiness.

3/3 Let’s see how the cigar ends

It was like the cigar hit big and threw out flavors. They oscillated between the puffs and you couldn’t decide which was the most dominant. The texture in the last third didn’t change much and was still creamy with a hint of butteriness. The flavors I felt were a combination of salt and sweet licorice, hay, cookie dough like sweetness, coffee latte with caramel syrup, baking powder, nuttiness reminiscent of peanuts, minerals, general spiciness and woodiness reminiscent of oak. In the background were shades of fruitiness reminiscent of peaches, light butteriness and espresso. The retrohalation was smoother and gave nuances of woodiness, white pepper and anise.

After taste

Walnuts

Body

Medium bordering on full

Smoke time

90 minutes

Conclusion

Perdomo 30th Anniversary epicure is a complex cigar with a lot of flavors. It could be smoked incredibly slowly and you could wait a while between puffs. The body makes it suitable for the slightly more experienced cigar smoker. If I compare price vs taste vs quality, I think you get a lot of cigar for the money.
