The cigar had a lovely dynamic where the complexity was most prominent in the flavor nuances.
Construction
The band around the cigar was like a work of art and you could feel the idea that it was for a celebration. The box pressed cigar was incredibly firm and had a slightly thicker oiliness that wrapped around it.
Wrapper: Nicaragua – Binder: Nicaragua – Filler: Nicaragua
Smell and cold draw
The wrapper on the Perdomo 20th anniversary maduro robusto smells hay and chocolate to me, while the inlay smelled of hay with a light caramel sweetness. The cold draft brought nuances of hay, nuttiness and oats.
1/3 Lets light the Perdomo 20th anniversary maduro robusto
The texture of the cigar was creamy with a lighter butteriness that elevated the experience. The dominant flavors I felt were hints of chocolate reminiscent of dark cake, nuttiness, butter and herbs. In the background there were shades of saltiness, fruitiness and a spiciness reminiscent of cayenne pepper. The retrohale slightly tickled the nose and gave nuances of white pepper and black pepper.
2/3 Let’s see what the second installment of Perdomo 20th anniversary maduro robusto has to offer
As I entered the second third of the Perdomo 20th anniversary maduro robusto, the texture became a little lighter and the butteriness disappeared. The texture was creamy but not like before. The flavors that emerged were a sweet citrus tartness, a combination of dark chocolate and milk chocolate, syrup-like sweetness and a nuttiness with a light hint of almond. In the background were flavors of fruitiness that emerged more than before, woodiness, spiciness, herbs and saltiness. The retrohalation was smoother than before and brought spicy nuances and hickory.
3/3 Let’s see how the Perdomo 20th anniversary maduro robusto cigar ends
As I got into the last third of the Perdomo 20th anniversary maduro robusto, the texture changed a bit and was reminiscent of the first third. It was creamy with a slight hint of butteriness. The flavors I felt were a syrup like sweetness, Chocolate reminiscent of a combination of milk chocolate, dark chocolate with hints of cacao, nuttiness, saltiness and woodiness. In the background were flavors of leather, hay, butter, fruitiness reminiscent of cherries and shades of citrus reminiscent of a combination of lemon and orange. The retrohale was smooth and gave hints of hickory, white pepper and cayenne pepper.
After taste
The aftertaste of the cigar was interesting and gave flavors of woodiness, dark chocolate and nuttiness.
Body
Medium bordering on full
Smoke time
65 minutes
Conclusion
Perdomo 20th anniversary maduro robusto is a well-balanced cigar with lots of chocolate flavors. Even if the body is medium on the border of full, I think it suits the aficionado who has not smoked very many cigars. If I compare price vs taste vs quality, I think you get a lot of cigar for the money. I could have imagined paying a bit more to smoke it.
