It’s no secret that a travel humidor is my most used accessory. It goes with me wherever I go, always ready in case the opportunity to smoke a cigar presents itself.
In 2025 Danays told me she was working on a project with a new type of traveling humidor, with the knowledge of her perfectionist eye, I have been eagerly waiting to see how it would turn out. Safe to say, the smal humidor has a better thought through humidity systems then any traveling humidors i have previously seen.
Lets get in to it.
Unboxing

The box the humidor came in had a painting of a abstract tobbaco leaf, in some way it almost didn’t feel like a box with a travel humidor inside, the feeling it conveyed was elegance and luxury. Almost the same feeling you have when going to the jewelry store, buying some kind of jewelry and having it tucked away in their hard velvet boxes.

Lets get into some interesting facts. I don’t think i have ever at least as far as i can remember seen a producer of traveling humidors show of product details in this way. Usually they only flash with how many cigars that fits and humidity system. On the back side of the box you get detailed information on everything you need to know and more. Let’s go through the 4 most important information you can read about.
Cigar Storage capacity.
1 cigar with max length of 198mm (7.8 inches) and ring gauge 52.
4 cigars with max length of 172mm (6,7 inches) and ring gauge of 56.
You should transform this to one Churchill and 4 toros and still have length to spare.
Humidity system
Replaceable HCCF bidirectional humidity control system integrated. This means it will ad or absorb moisture to keep you cigars in a range of 69%.
Weight
The travel humidor has a weight of 295g which makes it extremely light and easy to carry around.
Dimensions
The travel humidor has a size of 221mm x 132mm x 35mm

Lets review the humidor

Design
The very look of NRNH galaxy travel humidor was sleek and elegant. The slim design and soft rounded edges make it equally suitable for leisure adventures, a day at the golf course, the beach, a night out with friends, and the office. It is a versatile travel humidor that can be used for most occasions.
Functionality of the travel humidor

This is the part that surprised me the most about the humidor. Most of the time when you buy a travel humidor it comes with an empty little built-in humidification system in the middle of the lid, that smal system often take up unnecessary space in the middle from larger ring gauge cigars.
Humidity control systems
When I opened the lid I saw two HCCF bidirectional humidity control systems, one at the base of the cigars and one at the head. The dual system keeps the humidity level more even in the humidor and extends the lifespan of the humidification system. It is said that the dual systems have a lifespan of 60 days. In addition to the already installed replaceable systems, there were also two small packages with two extra humidification systems in each. This means that the total usage time (without having to buy a bunch of extra humidification units like humidity bags) should be about 180 days. This part alone I felt saved me a lot of headaches when you have to order new ones, they just sit on the shelf waiting as a cheap insurance to keep the cigars in good condition.

Construction
The bottom of the travel humidor was pure plastic which gave me a little bit of concern at first, I thought the cigars would move back and forth, up and down when I carried them, especially smaller ring gauge cigars. That concern disappeared pretty quickly after I put the cigars in the humidor. The lid had the classic foam that is usually found in today’s travel humidors, in addition to the foam in the lid the humidor also came with 6 foam balls that you place at either the head or foot of the cigars which stop them from moving back and forth. I closed the lid and I have to admit that it worked surprisingly well, I carried it with me during a couple of days, walked back and forth, in and out of the car with out any concerns for the cigars.

To keep the cigars in good condition, NRNH has chosen to install a slightly wider rubber strip (the red part around the humidor) that helps retain the humidity in the humidor.
It has been one of the more frustrating things in other travel humidors I have owned, the rubber gasket has always been minimalistic, you have to fiddle with it after it comes loose and the humidity starts to seep out quite quickly, you have to change the humidity system faster than you thought. I have found it beeing quite frustrating.
Price of NRNG galaxy Travel humidor
The price of the NRNH Travel Humidor is between 35 – 40 dollars. A price I feel is quite low compared to many others. You have to take into account that you get an extra humidification system, do not have to invest beyond the humidor purchase at the beginning and for most of the first year.
Conclusion
The NRNH galaxy travel humidor has a stable construction that keeps the cigars stable in place. The design is elegant and gives a luxurious impression. The space allows you to fit most popular cigar sizes up to a ring gauge of 56. The humidity system is well thought out. When I compare the travel humidor’s functionality, what is included, design and price, I feel that it is low in price compared to what you get.
