A powerful cigar i really enjoyed.
Construction
The cigar had no flaws and was firm and nice. The oiliness was smooth and gave a silky feel. The red band gives a slightly harder impression. The cigar has the same name as the region in the Dominican Republic where the wrapper is grown. It had everything you would expect from a Davidoff cigar.
Wrapper: Dominican – Binder: Dominican – Filler: Dominican and Nicaragua
Taste
Smell and cold draw
I was expecting a bit more robust aromas like espresso and farmyard given what I had heard about the cigar but instead I was met with the wrapper having a fruity aroma with a mixture of dark chocolate and milk chocolate. The filler, however, smelled as I had expected, espresso with a slight fruitiness. The cold draft had flavors of chocolate and light fruitiness.

1/3 Lets enjoy Davidoff Yamasa Robusto
It all started with the creamy texture. After just a few puffs, it was clear that the cigar was a spicy story in the beginning. The flavors that dominated were oak, white pepper, cayenne pepper and a slight hint of old fashioned caramel. The caramel flavor was not too sweet, it was a bit like syrup. In the background there were light flavors of fruitiness that reminded a little of fruit salad. The retrohalation tickled the nose and generally had flavors of mixed spiciness.
2/3 The cigar shows a lovely complex side
The creamy texture was still there but a little thicker. The flavors started to change a bit and showed that the cigar was complex. The flavors I got in the second third of the Davidoff Yamasa Robusto were leather, earthiness, a light fruitiness, a light acidity, a combination of dark and light chocolate, a taste reminiscent of bread and oak. Retrohalation was reminiscent of white pepper.
3/3 A good finish to the Davidoff Yamasa Robusto
As I got into the last third of the Davidoff Yamasa robusto, the texture changed a bit. The previous texture of the cigar, which was creamy, now became a combination of creamy and slightly oily, which was incredibly nice. The flavors that emerged were light fruitiness, sweet oak, light citrus, leather, fresh spices taking their place. The retrohalation tickled the nose and gave flavors of black pepper.

Conclusion
Good rolled cigar with no flaws. It had good flavors although they had a slight roughness on the palette. A cigar worth trying for the seasoned smoker. If you are new to cigars, it will be difficult to enjoy what the cigar has to offer. If we compare quality, price and taste, I would probably say that you get good taste and quality but pay a little more for the brand.
