I had longed for a long time to try the Drew estate liga Privada 10 Aniversario Seleccion de Mercado toro. My expectations were high for the cigar. I don’t know if it was just that one or if it’s with most of them, but I got a little shock when I had to take puffs more often than usual so that the glow wouldn’t go out. There will be an update on the next one.
Conctrustion
The cigar was firm and nicely rolled without any unevenness. The wrapper had a slight oiliness. What I think was incredibly nicely done was the pig tail and the closed foot. Somehow it feels like when it’s closed foot that it gets an extra nice detail. The band around the cigar gave me the feeling what that the name indicated, liga privada. I got a feeling of luxurious private blend that wasn’t really meant to go out to the public.
Wrapper: Nicaragua – Binder: Mexico – Filler: Nicaragua and USA

Taste
Smell and cold draw
I brought the cigar to my nose and smelled a sweet leather scent with a lighter undertone of fruitiness. Cold draft was incredibly interesting and difficult to explain. The easiest way is that it was a combination of hay, fruitiness, citrus and maltiness. Incredibly interesting Cold draft.
1/3 of Drew Estate Liga Privada 10 Aniversario Seleccion de Mercado Toro
When I took the first puff, I felt a really lovely texture sweep over my taste buds. I had expected creaminess but what I got was a mixture of butteriness and light oiliness. The very combination of butteriness and oiliness meant that the cigar didn’t feel dry in the mouth like many others. The flavors the Drew estate cigar gave were incredible, it started with a caramel candy like sweetness, general florality, saltiness, espresso, a slight acidity that can almost be described in the citrus peel direction and a bready undertone. The rephrohalation was interesting, while it was velvety smooth there was a slight spiciness that tickled the nose. The flavors that emerged during the re-inhalation were woody flavors.

2/3 of Drew Estate Liga Privada 10 Aniversatio Seleccion De macado Toro
As I entered the second third, the character of the cigar changed and it showed its complexity. The texture that was previously buttery and oily now became more creamy. The floral taste from earlier now went more towards the tulip. There was a sweet fruitiness, chocolate nuances reminiscent of milk chocolate that started to go in the direction of dark chocolate. All the sweet flavors were balanced by a hickory-like flavor and a flavor that, strangely enough, I can most easily describe went in the direction of perosciutto skin. When I mean the perosciutto taste, there was a saltiness, sweetness and somewhat meatiness. I think it may be the combination of several flavors previously described that brought out the perosciutto shade. To top it all off, there was a lovely souerness in the background reminiscent of lime. The retrohale was smooth and had woody flavors.
3/3 A great ending to Drew Estate Liga Privada 10 Aniversatio Seleccion De macado Toro
The last third finished the cigar in an incredibly good way. The texture became creamier and the flavors it brought were a light breadiness. A breadiness that reminded of bread baked in a new stone oven. The saltiness from before that was still there but no longer resembled persciotto. It was a more general saltiness. There were shades of general fruitiness that could be found in the cigar. The acidity took a little more space than before and reminded of citrus in the background. To balance out all the sweet and sour flavors there were shades of espresso, cacao and hickory in the background. The retrohalation was smooth and reminiscent of white pepper.
After taste
The aftertaste of the cigar had a slight saltiness and was reminiscent of a combination of walnuts and peanuts.
Body
Full body
Smoke time
Approximately 65 minutes
Conclusion
A complex cigar but many flavors that shift between the thirds. A full body that almost bordered on the medium side, which suits the slightly more experienced cigar enthusiasts. Nothing for those who have just started their journey but are definitely worth trying after smoking for a while. The cigar went out faster than with many others and you had to take puffs faster than usual, which meant that you had to smoke the cigar “hot”. An update will come at the next one if they were just the copy that went out quickly or not.
