I was amazed by the cigar from start to finish. 90 minutes from a robusto is not something you often encounter.
Construction
When I looked at the cigar I got a lovely joy-spreading but at the same time powerful feeling. The purple band in combination with the blue, gave a feeling of relaxation, like it was made for those special moments when you just want to kick off your shoes, sit back and enjoy what the cigar has to offer. The cigar had a wonderfully beautiful pigs tail and closed foot. The construction was firm and even across the entire cigar. The wrapper had an oily feel to it.

Smell and cold draw
The PDR 1878 Capa Sungrown Robusto cigar had a scent of hay and light chocolate. The cold draw was incredibly pleasant, a cold draw I had been able to enjoy for a few hours before now and then before lighting the cigar. The flavors I felt were sweet fruitiness, cedar and chocolate.

1/3 Let’s light the PDR 1878 Capa Sungrown Robusto cigar
The texture was creamy and the dominant flavors I felt were Leather, Sweet fruitiness, general nuttiness and sweet almond, strange as they may sound, butter dough, hay and woodiness. In the background there were nuances of saltiness, chocolate and general sweetness. The retrohalation gave a nuance of hay. The flavors were incredibly smooth and it smoked surprisingly slowly.
2/3 The cigar shows a lovely complexity
The cigar showed a lovely complexity with smooth flavors. The texture was creamy as before and the flavors I felt were general fruitiness, citrus, hay, nuttiness reminiscent of sweet almond paste, woodiness and butter dough. In the background were nuances of saltiness, vanilla sugar-like sweetness, herbs, milk chocolate and leather. The retrohalation was smooth and gave nuances of nuttiness and hay.
3/3 let’s see how the cigar ends

In the background there were nuances of citrus, a combination of dark chocolate and milk chocolate, Dates, vanilla sugar-like sweetness, Licorice and leather. The retrohalation was smooth and gave nuances of nuttiness and hay.

Smoke time
In addition to the flavors, the smoking time is almost special with the cigar. The PDR 1878 Capa Sungrown Robusto smoked incredibly slowly without it going out and affecting the flavor. It was almost cool in the smoke and gave a full 90 minutes which is quite unusual for a robusto.
Conclusion
PDR 1878 Capa Sungrown Robusto has a lovely and smooth complexity. It is cool in the smoke. The cigar can be smoked surprisingly slowly without going out and affecting the taste. The body is on medium which suits most Aficionados. If I compare price vs taste vs quality I think you get an incredible amount of cigar for the money and I would consider paying a lot more to smoke it again.
