PDR AFR-75 Cosecha Especial Shade Grown Robusto cigar review

The cigar provided an incredible experience and wonderful flavors.

Construction

I don’t know why but the band around the cigar gave me the feeling of relaxation and a Mediterranean cruise. As if it was made to be enjoyed on deck while lying and enjoying the sun on a sun lounger where the cigar provides a final touch of perfection and relaxation.
The cigar was firm and evenly rolled without any large veins. There was a silky smooth oiliness that wrapped around the cigar like a thin blanket.

Wrapper: Ecuador – Binder: Dominican – Filler: Dominican

Smell and cold draw

The aroma was incredibly pleasant and was almost like a lovely appetizer for the cigar. The cigar had a sweet fruity aroma with undertones of hay. The cold draft gave me flavors of hay and fruitiness. An incredibly wonderful start to the cigar.

1/3 Lets light up the PDR AFR-75 Cosecha Especial Shade Grown Robusto cigar

The cigar’s flavors started with a creamy and slightly buttery texture. A texture that made it feel extra smooth. The dominant flavors I felt were Hay, cedar wood and a fruitiness that went towards green grapes mixed with fruit salad. In the background there were nuances of nuttiness towards pistachio, vanilla-like sweetness and hay. Retrohalation was incredibly smooth and gave nuances of nuttiness. The cigar was surprisingly smooth.

2/2 Lets enjoy the second third of the cigar

The texture of the PDR AFR-75 Cosecha Especial Shade Grown Robusto cigar was creamy with a buttery hint as before which made it incredibly pleasant. The dominant flavors I felt were an incredibly lovely fruitiness reminiscent of fruit salad with hints of honeydew melon and pear emerging, hay, cedar wood and pistachio nuts. In the background there were nuances of saltiness, vanilla, creamy flavors and milk chocolate. The retrohalation was incredibly smooth and gave nuances of cedar. The cigar was as smooth as before and lightly smoked.

3/3 Let’s see how PDR AFR-75 Cosecha Especial Shade Grown Robusto finishes

As I entered the last third, the texture changed a bit. The texture was creamy without the buttery hints that were present earlier. The flavors I felt were hay, fruit salad in a combination of dark berries and a nuttiness that was reminiscent of a combination of pistachio and sweet almonds. In the background there were shades of vanilla, espresso with a light syrup-like sweetness, chocolate and leather. The retrohalation was smooth and gave shades of hay.

The cigar was incredibly fresh and lightly smoked.

After taste

The aftertaste of the cigar was almost unique and gave nuances of hay and syrupy sweetness. I rarely find syrupy sweetness in the aftertaste.

Conclusion

The PDR AFR-75 Cosecha Especial Shade Grown Robusto cigar is surprisingly smooth and fresh in flavor. There is a lovely complexity in the cigar between the thirds and the flavors are incredibly wonderfully balanced. The body, which is on the mild side, suits most aficionados. If I compare price vs. taste vs. quality, I think you get a lot of cigar for the money and I would consider paying a little more for it.
