Does the cigar live up to its price? Does the cigar make itself worthy of the premium segment in terms of flavors and quality? Is the El Septimo Bomba Orange worth investing your time in?
Construction
With its size of 6 1/2 length and ring gauge of 60, my expectations were high for the blend. I don’t know why but the name of the cigar, Bomba Orange gave me the feeling that it would be a grand and complex experience with fruity and citrus-like nuances.
The cigar had a unique detail that is not seen in many other places than El Septimo, a pigs tail at the base. The cigar was evenly rolled and incredibly firm with a slightly matte feel to it.

Wrapper: Undisclosed – Binder: Dominican – Filler: Dominican, Nicaragua, Honduras and Costa Rica.
Size: 6 1/2 (165mm) – gauge 60 (24mm)
Scent and cold draw
The aroma of Bomba Orange was incredibly pleasant and calming, the aromas I felt were Fruitiness, chocolate and hay. The cold draw of the cigar worked a bit like an appetizer that I wish I had enjoyed a little longer, the flavors I felt were milk chocolate and light maltiness.
1/3 Lets light up the El Septimo Bomba Orange
The whole experience started with a creamy yet buttery texture that gave an incredibly rich feeling without the cigar feeling dry at all. The flavors the Bomba Orange cigar offered were Chocolate, fruitiness, cedar, lime with a soft acidity. In the background I felt flavors of cedar, florality, general nuttiness, carbonation, raisins, honey and espresso. The retrohalation was smooth and gave nuances of white pepper and cedar wood.
2/3 The Bomba Orange keeps getting better
As I approached the second third of the cigar, the butteriness receded and the creamy texture remained. The creamy texture was now richer than before and showed its presence in every puff. The dominant flavors I was offered were Hay, Leather, Hazelnuts, Sweet Floral, Espresso with a faint caramel syrup Similar sweetness and woodiness. In the backround you could feel lighter flavors of Nougat chocolate, roasted salty nuts raisin, citrus peel and herbs. The retrohalation was still smooth and gave nuances of white pepper and cedar wood.
3/3 An incredible complexity emerged.
As I approached the last third it was like it almost exploded and picked up the pace in a way I don’t know if I’ve experienced before. The texture was as creamy as before but the flavors took over. The dominant flavors I felt were Woodiness, general nuts with a lighter shade of hazelnut, espresso, leather, saltiness, anise and dark sweet tobacco. In the background the flavors exploded and it was almost like they were competing to be the most prominent, The flavors I felt were vanilla bean, floral, fruity, herbs, dark chocolate, citrus peel, dark roasted coffee beans, raisins, brown sugar-like sweetness, another chocolate shade that reminded me of a combination of milk chocolate and nougat. The retrohalation was smooth and gave shades of woodiness.

Conclusion
El Septimo Bomba Orange is a complex cigar with an incredible amount of flavors to feel. It’s not often that you feel like there’s a little bit of everything. The cigar has what I would call El Septimo’s signature cleanliness in the flavor. Even though the body is on the verge of full, I feel that it also suits the slightly more inexperienced cigar smoker who is curious about full body. If I compare price vs taste vs quality, I think it’s where it should be, possibly a little low in price even though the price is 70 Dollars.
