A experience not to be taken for granted. Like the name suggests, it seduced my taste buds.
Construction
The cigar was extremely firm with no veins, soft spots or “plugs that” could be felt. The cigar had a thick oily feeling to it.
Wrapper: Ecuador – Binder: Dominican – Filler: Colombian
Scent and cold draw
The wrapper had a scent of sweet fruitiness with a hint of hay while the filler had a scent of fruitiness and farmyard. The cold draw had flavors of maltiness and hay.
1/3 Lets light up the Gurkha Seduction robusto and see what it has to offer
The texture was creamy and the dominant flavors i felt were Chocolate, woodiness and a flavor that is easiest described as a combination of dried herbs and fresh herbs. In the background there were flavors of hay, fruitiness, carbonation, nuts and a extremely interesting flavor that is hard to explain, the flavor was like a combination of vanilla bean and coconut. The retrohale was smooth and gave nuances of hay and chocolate. Through smoking, the flavors competed to see which one would be dominant. The cigar could be smoked extremely slowly without the embers going out and affecting the taste.
2/3 the cigar showed complexity
As i stepped into the second third of the cigar the flavors started slowly to change a bit. The texture was creamy as earlier and the flavors i felt were nuttiness, chocolate in a combination with cacao, woody flavors and florality. In the background there were flavors of strangely enough citrus lemonade reminiscent of the beer corona, herbs, espresso and carbonation. The retrohale was smooth and gave nuances of hay.
3/3 Lets see how the Gurkha Seduction ends
The last third ended the cigar in a great way. The texture was still creamy and the flavors it provided were dark woody flavors, nuttiness, anise, florality and dried herbs. In the background there were flavors of cacao, carbonation, citrus peel, syrup-like sweetness and saltiness. The retrohale tickled my nose a bit and gave shades of hay and spiciness.
After taste
Woody nuances
Body
Full bordering on medium
Smoke time
The cigar was incredibly slow burning and gave 80 minutes of joy
Conclusion
Gurkha Seduction robusto is a well-balanced cigar with an almost unique flavor nuance of citrus in the second third. The body that is full on the borderline of Medium makes it suitable for the slightly more experienced Aficionados. The cigar can be smoked incredibly slowly. If I compare price vs taste vs quality I think you get a lot of cigar for the money. I would consider paying a little more to smoke it again.
