I didn’t expect as much from the cigar as I got. One of the best cigars in the price range I’ve smoked and that I want to smoke again.

Whether you are a aficionado or new to the world of cigars, the Drew Estate Factory Smokes Sungrown Robusto is definitely worth trying. Enjoy the rich flavors and the moments of relaxation it provides. Cheers!

Cigar Construction

To be honest, I didn’t think the construction would be good when I was waiting for the cigar to arrive thanks to the low price. I expected uneven packing of tobacco and bad wrapper. I had ordered several of the same just to see if the construction and taste was consistent on all of them. Once I got my package home and looked at the cigars, I was pleasantly surprised. My expectations were wrong! I ran my fingers slowly over the cigars and felt almost no irregularities in the packing, as you usually do in a budget cigar. The wrapper embraced the binder and filler tobacco evenly and nicely. You could hardly notice the seams in a way that you would expect from a premium cigar. The cover had no oiliness and I didn’t expect that either.

Wrapper: Sungrown Habano – Binder: Indonesia – Filler: Indonesia

Taste unlit

After cutting the cigar, I took a few drags before lighting it. I have a hard time putting my finger on exactly what flavor I felt, The closest I can come is caramel syrup. Although I can’t put my finger on the taste exactly, it was incredibly pleasant. The draw of the cigar was lighter than many other cigars.

Taste lit – Drew Estate Faktory smokes Sungrown robusto the first 55 minutes

The cigar wasn’t a complex story but that didn’t matter. The flavors that came through were prominent and pleasant. The draw was incredibly easy, almost no resistance at all.The texture was slightly creamy and the smoke not at all thick compared to many other cigars. The cigar was smooth as butter from the start and showed almost no spiciness or bitterness at all. The first thing that came to mind was the incredible sweetness that my taste buds felt and with a incredibel taste of floral flavors. The cigar was fully developed in flavors after the first 10 minutes after bering lit. The flavors that I felt apart from the floral flavor was a nice hay and oak like flavors with a light chocolate flavor and vanilla sugar. The combination of chocolate and vanilla sugar made my mind think of milk chocolate. The sweetness was a big part of the cigar almost until it was time to put the cigar down. There was a slight pepperiness in the background reminiscent of white pepper on the retrohale. The rethrohale was incredibly smooth.

Smoking the last 10 minutes

As I got into the end of the cigar, about the last 10 minutes, the milk chocolate flavor changed to dark chocolate with a slight bitterness, the oak darkened a bit and the hay flavor receded a bit but was still there. The sweet taste was a little lighter but still there. There was a light citrus flavor in the background which I thought was incredibly nice to feel.

Smoke time

Before I lit the Drew Estate Factory Smokes Sungrown Robusto cigar, I thought the smoking time would be around 45-50 minutes with the thought that it is a mixed filler. They tend to burn faster. I got around 65 minutes of smoking time out of the cigar and could have smoked it a bit more, around 5 to 7 minutes I would guess.

Aftertaste

The aftertaste was short and had a dry texture and taste of walnuts.

The taste of the Drew Estate Factory Smokes Sungrown is truly exceptional when you think the price vs quality ratio. With every puff i took, the cigar gave me a great pleasure.
