Construction
The cigar had some soft parts along the entire length of the cigar which gave me some concern. The cigar had a silky oiliness to it.
Wrapper: Ecuador – Binder: Dominican – Filler: Dominican and Nicaragua
Scent and cold draw
The wrapper had a scent combination of hay and citrus while the filler had a scent of farmyard, citrus and strangely a slight hint of mint leaves. The cold draft of the cigar gave me flavors of oats.
Lets light up the Gurkha Legend 1959 robusto and see what it has to offer
The cigar was incredibly unevenly lit and I had to adjust the glow for most of the smoke. The texture was creamy and the flavors I felt were peppery, fir needles, woodiness and espresso. In the background were nuances of syrupy sweetness, raisins, vanilla beans, chocolate and strangely enough mint leaves. The mint leaves gave the cigar a wonderfully unique boost to the flavors. The retrohalation was smooth and gave nuances of woodiness.

Conclusion
Gurkha Legend 1959 robusto is a cigar that lacks great complexity. The flavors were balanced with a lighter shade of mint that stood out and gave it character. Unfortunately, it glowed incredibly unevenly, but despite that, I think it fits well as a lovely everyday cigar. If I compare price vs taste vs quality, I think it was a bit high in price. If I could have avoided the uneven glow and the irritation of sitting with a lighter and correcting it all the time, it would probably have been a bit low in price.
