A friend called – Peter you have to try this cigar! He told me all about his experience and what the price of the cigar was. I was a little curious but still very skeptical. Of course there are cheap cigars with incredibly good quality today, but this one would be something different I was told. I ordered it and it sat in my humidor for 2 weeks while I had others on my list to review first.
Conctrustion
To my surprise, the cigar was completely veinless and surprisingly tightly rolled. What I felt was different about the Ibis Nicaragua robusto was the oiliness, it felt a bit sticky in some way. (The only time I’ve felt that kind of sticky feeling was when I did a freeze test on El Septimo Rebelde Blue to bust a myth).
Band impression
When I held the cigar and saw the bird, it felt like a cigar suitable for days in nature, an everyday one or the cigar you light on your fishing trip during the day.

The Ibis Nicaragua we reviwed was a vitola Robusto.

Cold draw
I took a few puffs before lighting the cigar. The taste I felt gave no indication of what was to come. The flavor I felt in the cigar was a sweet maltiness.
Lets light up the Ibis Nicaragua Robusto
I had previously been a little skeptical about how good the cigar could really be and whether it was over-hyped. After smoking a few sticks at a slightly lower price, you usually know roughly what to expect. A slightly unevenly rolled cigar that sometimes glows Uneven and lighter flavors. To my surprise, this cigar was the exact opposite. The texture of the Ibis Nicaragua robusto cigar was creamy and the flavors I felt were Grass, hay, sweet nuttiness reminiscent of sweet almond and light pistachio, fruitiness and a sweetness reminiscent of soft honey and syrup. Complementing the dominant flavors were nuances of general pepperiness, raisins, leather and caffe latte that gave further depth to the Ibis Nicaragua robusto. The retrohalation tickled my nose slightly and gave generally peppery nuances.
Towards the end of the cigar it showed a little complexity. Into the whole mix came flavors of espresso, hay and dark chocolate that dominated everything, the rest of the flavors ended up in the background. This was about the last 10 minutes with the cigar.
After taste
Walenut
Draw
The draw of Ibis Nicaragua was incredibly smooth, Neither too tight nor loose.
Burn quality
Honestly, the glow surprised me. I thought it would be uneven like many of its competitors. The cigar had a better glow line than many cigars in the double price range.
Body
The body of Ibis Nicaragua robusto was medium bordering on mild.
Smoke time
55 minutes.
Price Ibis Nicaragua Robusto
The price for the cigar is approximately about $3.80-$4.00 USD
Conclusion
Ibis Nicaragua Robusto is a cigar with a medium body bordering on mild which makes it suitable for most cigar smokers. It is not particularly complex in terms of thirds but has a dynamic considering how much flavor it still has. A really good everyday cigar. If I compare price vs taste vs quality I think it is cheap compared to what you get.
