When I’m in the mood for a cigar and don’t know what I want to smoke, Oliva G is a cigar I often turn to. One of my go to cigars.
Conctruction
It is rare that there are any faults in the construction of the Oliva Serie G Robusto cigar. At least not on anyone I’ve smoked. The cap was a little uneven, which rarely happens on this cigar, but nothing that would disturb. The one in the picture had some shade differences but nothing that bothered. The tobacco in the cigar was evenly packed and had no marked veins, which I thought could cause an uneven glow line.
Vitola: Dubble Robusto
Wrapper: Cameroon
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua
Taste
After cutting the cigar I took a few puffs before lighting the cigar in the usual order. The flavors that emerged were hay and light fruitiness.
1/3
The Oliva series G Double Robusto cigar started with lovely flavors and a creamy texture. The flavors that emerged were a Fruitiness mixed with milk chocolate like taste and sweet floral nuances. When retrohaling the cigar there was a lighter taste of white pepper and it tickled a little in the nose. An incredibly lovely start to the cigar.
2/3
The texture was as creamy as in the first third. What I liked was that the fruitiness increased and the floral flavor became sweeter, while the milk chocolate I felt before had now changed shade to dark chocolate with a little hay in the background. Retrohalation became smoother and white pepper was found in the background.
3/3
A really lovely finish to the cigar began. The creaminess remained while the fruity and floral retreated. Flavors of oak and dark chocolate emerged as the dominant flavor with espresso in the background. Retrohaling became a little more peppery and you could feel a lighter taste of black pepper.
Aftertaste
The aftertaste is quite short and with the taste of walnut and a slightly dry texture.
Smoke time
Smoking the Oliva Serie G Double Robusto cigar took about 60 minutes.
It is a cigar I will probably always have as one of my go to cigars. Good balance and good quality.
