The PDR A. Flores 1975 Gran Reserva Maduro had a wonderful complexity. I didn’t expect to get as much from the cigar as i got.
Construction
When I held the cigar, I got an elegant and luxurious feeling. A feeling of wealth and celebration.
The cigar was firmly and evenly rolled and had a thick oily feeling to it.
Wrapper: Mexican – Binder: Dominican – Dominican and Nicaragua
Scent and cold draw
The wrapper had a scent of earthiness, florality and chocolate while the filler had a scent of chocolate and hay. The cold draft gave me flavors of chocolate and florality.

1/4 Lets light up PDR A. Flores 1975 Gran Reserva Maduro Robusto
It all started with a creamy texture with a hint of oiliness. The dominant flavors I felt were minerals, fruitiness and general sweetness. In the background there were flavors of sourness that leaned towards lemon, leather and spiciness. The retrohale tickled my nose a little and gave nuances of spiciness.
2/4 the cigar continued in a wonderful way
The texture changed a bit and was now only creamy. The flavors the cigar offered in the second third where dark berry fruitiness, lemon-like acidity, ground coffee beans and general sweetness with a hint of brown sugar. In the background there were flavors of cacao, herbs, minerals and saltiness. The retrohale became smoother and gave nuances of spiciness and hay.
3/4 It had a wonderful complexity
The texture was creamy and the flavors i felt were Chocolate combined with cocoa, combination of brown sugar and honey-like sweetness, cedar-like woodiness, dark berry fruitiness, leather and coffee latte with caramel syrup. In the background there were flavors of nuttiness in the direction of Macadamia nuts, lemon like acidity, lemon zest and light earthiness. The retrohale was smooth and gave nuances of hay and cacao.
4/4 last minutes of the cigar, what a wonderful finish
I was a bit shocked as I approached the end of the PDR A. Flores 1975 Gran Reserva Maduro. It showed more complexity again in the last 10 minutes. The texture was creamy and the flavors it gave were Chocolate, coffee latte with caramel syrup, dark chocolate with orange, leather and general nuttiness. In the background were nuances of honey, butter, saltiness, hay and dark berries. The retrohalation was smooth and gave nuances of hay.
After taste
Dark chocolate, Ground coffee beans and walnuts.
Body
Medium bordering on full
Smoke time
65 minutes
Conclusion
PDR A. Flores 1975 Gran Reserva Maduro Robusto is a complex cigar with balanced flavors. Most of the complexity is that the flavors change somewhat in nuances. The body, which is medium on the borderline of full, makes it suitable for the slightly more experienced Aficionados. If I compare price vs taste vs quality, I think it is a bit low in price and you get a lot of cigar for the money.
