A
Aging – Time that softens sharpness and deepens harmony in tobacco.


Ammonia – A sharp smell from under-aged leaf; proof it needed more rest.


Anejo – Extra-aged tobacco, smoother and richer from patience.


Aroma – The character of the smoke that fills the air and lingers after.


B
Band – The ring of tradition, marking pride and origin.


Binder – The hidden leaf that holds the filler in place.


Bleeding – Purging air from a lighter before refilling.


Blend – The recipe that defines character: wrapper, binder, filler.


Bloom – Natural crystals of oil on the wrapper; a mark of good aging.


Box-Pressed – Square-edged cigars, comfortable to hold and slow to burn.


Burn Line – The glowing edge where fire meets leaf. Straight means balance.

Cap – The end you cut; slice gently to preserve the roll.


Canoeing – When one side burns faster than the other. Correct it with patience and flame.


Cedar – a wood type adding aroma and protection.


Cellophane – The thin sleeve for transport; remove for long storage.


Chaveta – The flat knife used by rollers to shape leaf.


Cold Draw – A pre-light pull, revealing the cigar’s first whisper.


Combustion – How evenly the cigar burns — balance revealed in fire.


Construction – The roller’s craft in draw, burn, and feel.


Corojo – Cuban-seed leaf known for spice and body.


Cut – The first ritual: guillotine, punch, or V.

Draw – The resistance of air through the cigar. Perfect draw is effortless.


Double Claro – Pale green wrapper, grassy and light.


Double Ligero – Blends built from the strongest leaves, bold and potent.

Earthy – A tasting note: mineral, soil, and spice.


Even Burn – A balanced line of fire, proof of fine rolling.

Filler – The heart of the cigar; flavor, strength, and body.


Finish – The aftertaste left behind — sometimes the finest note.


Foot – The end you light; the cigar’s beginning.

Habano – A Cuban-seed variety grown worldwide, known for spice and power.


Hand-Rolled – Crafted entirely by hand, tradition at its purest.


Head – The end you cut, placed between the lips.


Humidity level – The humidity for storage; 65 % – 70%


Humidor – The storage for cigars that helps keep the humidity level.


Hygrometer – The tool that tells you if your humidor is honest.

Ligero – Top leaves of the plant, bold and strong.


Long Filler – Whole leaves from end to end, smooth and steady.

M
Maduro – “Ripe.” Dark wrappers, sweet and full.


Mold – True enemy of cigars; fuzzy and wet, unlike harmless bloom.


Mouthfeel – The sensation of smoke — creamy, sharp, or dry.

N
Natural – Light wrapper shade, smooth and nutty.


Nicotine Kick – A rush from strength or smoking too quickly.

O
Oil – a oil that is naturally in tobbaco


Oscuro – Nearly black wrapper, bold and earthy.


Over-Humidified – Cigars gone soft, burning poorly from to much moisture.

P
Parejo – The classic straight cigar.


Perfect Draw – Neither too tight nor loose; balance achieved.


Perfecto – Tapered at both ends; rare and elegant.


Plugged – A cigar rolled too tight to smoke easily.


Plume – Natural bloom — sign of age and care.


Puro – Made entirely from tobacco of one country.

Razor Burn – A perfectly even burn line.


Retrohale – Exhaling through the nose for full aroma.


Ring Gauge – Diameter of the cigar, in sixty-fourths of an inch.


Rosado – Reddish wrapper, sweet and spicy.

Sampler – A collection for exploring blends and sizes.


Seasoning – Preparing a new humidor.


Short Filler – Chopped tobacco, fast-burning and simple.


Smoke Time – The rhythm of a cigar; usually an hour.


Soft Flame – Gentle fire for lighting without scorching.


Stogie – Once slang for cheap smokes, now a friendly name.


Sun-Grown – Leaf grown under open sky, thick and powerful.

Vitola – The size and shape of a cigar.

Wrapper – The cigar’s skin; its first look and flavor.

Wind Tunneling – A breeze pulling burn unevenly.
