An incredibly lovely everyday cigar.
Construction
I can’t explain why, but the feeling I got when I held the cigar and looked at the band was noble. Somehow my thoughts were taken far back in time and it felt like it was an emblem from some kind of knightly order. Like it would be a symbol for pride and courage in some way.
The cigar was incredibly firm and evenly rolled with a slightly oily feel to it.
Wrapper: Nicaragua – Binder: Peru – Filler: Dominican and Nicaragua
Scent and cold draw
The wrapper had a scent of hay and lighter mineral notes while the filler gave me scents of hay and leather. The cold draft gave me lighter flavors of hay with lighter nutty nuances.

The texture was creamy and the dominant flavors I felt were nuttiness, hay, anise, floral nuances and fresh herbs. In the background were flavor nuances of saltiness, coffee beans and the classic sweet tobacco nuance. The retrohalation was smooth and gave nuances of white pepper.
2/2 The cigar shows lighter complexity
The texture grew and became creamier. The flavors I felt were hay, the anise flavor from before changed and now reminded me of sweet licorice and fresh spices. There was a flavor I have an incredibly hard time explaining in words, the closest I come is that the flavor strangely reminded me of a mix of floral, cedar and light vanilla bean. In the background there were nuances of raisins, saltiness and coffee beans. The retrohalation was smooth and gave nuances of hay and white pepper.

I was quite shocked by the smoking time of the cigar. It was not particularly large and could be smoked incredibly slowly without it negatively affecting the taste. The smoking time was 75 minutes.
Conclusion
Hemmy’s natural robusto is not particularly complex but has some flavor nuances that are quite unique. The flavors are prominent and balanced. A cigar I feel is good for times when you don’t want to put all your full focus on the cigar and still feel good flavors. The body, which is on medium, is good for new cigar smokers and slightly more experienced aficionados who like a little more earthy tones. If I compare price vs. taste vs. quality, I think it is a bit underpriced compared to what you get.
