I love looking at a barber pole cigar, they look a bit like art compared to other cigars.
Construction
The band around the cigar made a powerful impression. Somehow I think it looked like the armor of a mighty knight. A knight who goes into battle to protect the people. I expected to feel the edges between the different wrappers, but they were tight and you could hardly feel any transition at all. The cigar was firm and evenly rolled with a slightly oily feeling.

Taste
Smell and cold draw
The wrapper smelled of sweetness and hay while the filler had the classic hay smell. The cold draft had shades of hay. Everything before the roasting gave hay shades. Felt a bit like being on a farm.

Even though the cigar was a toro, I could only split it into two parts. It all started with a smooth creamy texture. The flavors I felt were freshly picked sweet spices, a general nuttiness, chocolate reminiscent of nougat, and leather in the background. The retrohale was smooth and gave flavors of fresh spices and black pepper.
2/2 of Leonel barber pole toro
You could say that the second part of the cigar was incredibly similar to the first. It was more like flavors were added rather than changed. The texture was smooth and creamy. The flavors I felt were fresh sweet spices, a general nuttiness, chocolate reminiscent of nougat, light leather, general woodiness, general sweet Fruitiness and a nice saltiness.

Conclusion
A nice cigar with interesting complexity, the flavors didn’t change much but were added instead. The flavors were smooth and easy to find. A Body that suits the new and more experienced Aficionado. If I compare price vs. taste of quality, I think it is where it should be, maybe a little over the top. A cigar I think suits most aficionados.
