Macanudo Inspirado tercio Aged cigar review

Macanudo Inspirado tercio Aged

An absolutely incredible experience! I had high expectations for the cigar with the idea that the tobacco was in Palm leaves, but it still managed to take them by storm.

Conctruction

Considering the price, I was a little extra picky about everything about the Macanudo Inspirado tercio Aged Limited Edition Toro cigar. The only thing I had to complain about was the Cape, which was a bit uneven and wavy, but nothing I thought would interfere with the smoking after I cut the cigar and tested the draw. The tobacco was evenly distributed and there were no larger veins that would interfere with the smoking and make the glow line uneven.

Vitola: Toro

Wrapper: Mexican San Andres

Binder: Indonesian Bezuki

Filler: Piloto Cubano Seco, Piloto Cubano Ligero, Colombian Seco

Taste

I became doubtful about the scent if my nose felt right. The smell was incredibly good and I had to ask my wife what she smelled on the cigar. I want to point out that my wife is not a cigar smoker, although we both smelled sweet cocos on the unleavened leaf and hay on the filler. I took a few cold drags and was met with smooth flavors that were sweetly fruity in a combination of cacao. It’s one of the best starts to a cigar I’ve experienced.

1/3

When I lit the Macanudo Inspirado tercio Aged Limited tercio Aged Toro cigar I was greeted by a smooth and slightly creamy texture. It all started with incredibly lovely flavors of sweet fruitiness with a light touch of floral. After I smoked the cigar for a short while, flavors came into the mix that I can’t describe other than light sweet vanilla and incredibly light flavors reminiscent of sweet sour citrus candy. The retrohaling was incredibly lovely and was smoother than regular cigars, it was smooth as silk and enhanced the fruitiness of the cigar without any particular pepperiness.

2/3

When I got into the second third of the Macanudo Inspirado tercio Aged Limited Edition Toro cigar the texture changed a bit, there was a certain creaminess left which was now also joined by a light butteriness. Although the flavors changed a little, they remained in the same style as before. The fruitiness grew and became sweeter, it was reminiscent of a fruit salad with a little light vanilla sugar. The florality that was felt before grew and took a more definite place, the flavors were sweet and reminiscent of the scent of tulips.

3/3

The last third shocked and changed the cigar’s flavors quite a bit, which offered an incredibly good finish. The texture was slightly creamy and buttery. On the retrohale I now found the hint of white pepper which I found incredibly welcoming, it balanced the flavors in the cigar quite a bit. Fruitiness that you felt before was now in the background and the dominant flavors I felt were creamy espresso, a nuttiness reminiscent of almonds, a mixture of dark chocolate and sweet milk chocolate. There were hints of lemon and a certain bitterness reminiscent of lemon peel in the background which balanced the cigar well. A bit into the last third of the Macanudo Inspirado tercio Aged Toro cigar there was a hint of flavors reminiscent of sweet bread. As the cigar began to approach the end, the flavors changed a lot and finished with flavors of dark chocolate, stone oven bread and light lemon peel.

Aftertaste

The aftertaste was reminiscent of walnuts and did not linger for long.

Smoke time

I really have to highlight this, it’s rare that I’ve smoked a cigar that was able to rest as long between puffs without going out as this one did. Incredibly, I sat with the cigar for 2 hours, which I thought was absolutely incredible. Especially after hearing it’s a 60 minute cigar. Here I got value for money if you compare, some cigars cost half the price and also offer half the smoke time if not less. Here it was a premium cigar with added value in smoking time.

Do I want to smoke it again? Undoubtedly! incredibly good and well-balanced cigar.
