A premium cigar will always be a premium cigar. A cheap cigar will always be a cheap cigar. But is the premium cigar always a better choice? There are two sides to the answer.
Premium cigars
The premium cigar most often has better Tobacco. The tobacco may have had a longer fermentation, is stored extra in different barrels or even palm bales, are long fillers and often made by a more experienced torcedor (cigar roller). They are often more complex and need more of your attention to be enjoyed to the fullest.
Cheap cigars
A cheap cigar is usually a hand-rolled mixed filler or machine-rolled short filler. The tobacco is generally a bit cheaper and of lower quality. The flavors are usually the same from start to finish. The mixed and short filler cigars and often glow a little faster than a premium long filler. The fact that the flavors are the same from start to finish means that you don’t have to give the cigar your full attention to enjoy it.
Witch to pick, premium expensive long filler cigar or cheap short/mixt filler cigar?
If we ignore the budget we have for cigars, I would say that both types of cigars have their time and charm. A cigar is a culinary and pleasurable experience and should be enjoyed to the fullest, therefore it may be worth choosing your cigar carefully. For moments when you have time and can disconnect all thoughts and give the cigar your attention, I would have chosen a premium stick with a little more complexity. If, on the other hand, you have a little less time or find it difficult to disconnect all thoughts, then a cheaper, less complex cigar is a good alternative. It gives the taste buds more opportunities to find the flavors and give a moment of pleasure.
Choosing the right cigar carefully provides opportunities to fully enjoy the moment like a luxurious dessert after a meal.
