Flor De Copan Short Robusto cigar review

Construction

The cedar leaf was a wonderful addition to the cigar, the scent and feel was a lovely touch. The cigar was firm and evenly rolled. The oiliness that wrapped around the cigar was a little thicker than many other cigars and almost rough.

Wrapper: Honduras – Binder: Honduras – Filler: Honduras, Nicaragua

Smell and cold draw

The scent of the Flor De Copan Short Robustos wrapper reminded me of chocolate while the filler smelled of hay and nuttiness. Cold draft gave me flavors of oats and nuttiness.

Lets light up the Flor De Copan Short Robusto to see what it has to offer

The cigar had a creamy yet buttery texture. The dominant flavors I felt were hay, grass, nuttiness and woodiness. In the background were nuances of salty licorice, vanilla-like sweetness and fruitiness. The retrohalation tickled the nose a little and gave nuances of white pepper and hay.

After taste

The aftertaste was not particularly prominent and gave a faint taste of walnuts.

Body

Medium bordering on mild

Smoke time

45 minutes

Conclusion

Flor De Copan Short Robusto is a lightly smoked cigar without much complexity. It is well suited for occasions when you don’t want or have time to put full focus on the cigar. The body, which is medium on the borderline of mild, makes it suitable for most aficionados. If I compare price vs taste vs quality, I think it is where it should be, maybe a little over the edge but not much.
