Construction
The Santa Damiana cigar was unevenly rolled and had some soft parts along the length of the cigar. It had a thicker, rough, oily feel to it.
Wrapper: Dominican – Binder: Dominican – Filler: Dominican
Smell and cold draw
The scent i felt on the wrapper and filler was hay and fruitiness. The cold draw gave me flavors of chocolate and nuttiness.
Lets light up the Santa Damiana Short Robusto
The texture of the cigar was creamy and the dominant flavors i felt were hay, fruitiness and general nuttiness with a hint of sweet almonds. In the background there were flavors of vanilla, wheat bread and citrus peel. The retrohale tickled my nose a little and gave nuances of white pepper.
After taste
The cigar gave a flavor of walnuts as a after taste
Body
Mild bordering on medium
Smoke time
45 minutes
Conclusion
The Santa Damiana cigar is a lightly smoked cigar without complexity. The construction was uneven throughout the cigar. The body, which was on the mild side, makes it suitable for most aficionados. If I compare price vs taste vs quality, I think it is a bit high in price.
