Construction
When I started the cigar review of the Macanudo Inspirado orange robusto, I felt a slightly softer part in the middle of the cigar. I was hoping the soft part wouldn’t cause it, but it did a little. When I got there, the cigar started to burn unevenly and had to be corrected a bit. After the soft part, the cigar started to burn evenly and nicely again. The wrapper had a lighter silky smooth oily feel to it.
Wrapper: Honduras – Binder: Honduras – Filler: Dominican, Nicaragua and Honduras
Smell and cold draw
The scent I smelled on the wrapper was hay and general sweetness while the filler had the classic farmyard scent. The cold draft gave the taste buds nuances of oatmeal.
1/2 Of the Macanudo orange robusto cigar
The Macanudo orange was not a particularly complex cigar and could be split into two parts. The texture was creamy with a slight oiliness. The flavors I felt during the first part of the cigar were sweet woodiness, earthiness, fruitiness and a pear-like sweetness. In the background there were shades of hay and vanilla bean. The retrohale was smooth and gave nuances of white pepper and hay.
2/2 of the cigar
As I stepped into the second part of the cigar the texture changed a bit and was now just creamy. The flavors I felt were general nuttiness, fruitiness, hay and chocolate. In the background there were shades of floral that reminded me of a fresh perfume, vanilla and light espresso. The retrohalation was smooth and gave general peppery nuances and chocolate.

Conclusion
The Macanudo Inspirado Orange Robusto was a cigar that could not be smoked slowly without starting to cool quickly. The flavors are balanced. The body of the cigar makes it suitable for most aficionados. If I compare price vs taste vs quality, I think it is where it should be, maybe a little on the upper end, but not much.
