A wonderfully complex cigar with a lot of flavor. It’s not often that I divide a cigar into four parts.
Construction
The cigar was perfect from start to finish. It was firm and tightly packed, the wrapper had a matte feeling. Some of the tobacco has even been aged for 10 years.
Wrapper: Ecuador – Binder: Honduras and Nicaragua – Filler: Nicaragua and Honduras
Taste
Smell and cold draw
The wrapper had a scent of espresso while the filler smelled hay and espresso. The cold draw gave me shades of sweetness and hay
1/4 of Rocky Patel The Edge 20th anniversary toro lit
When I roasted the cigar I was not prepared for it to be as complex as it was and it took me on a real flavor journey. It all started with a creamy texture and the flavors that the cigar offered were a flowery that alternated at times, general sweetness, spiciness reminiscent of pepper blend, dark roasted coffee beans mixed with semi-dark chocolate, leather, general nuttiness and woodiness. In the background there was a shade of dark berries. The retrohalation really tickled and gave a hint of black pepper. What was extra interesting was that between puffs a nuttiness remained on the palette with a lighter shade of classic tobacco flavor.
The 2/4 cigar changes the nuances a bit
The cigar shows a complexity. The texture was, as before, creamy and tender. The flavors I felt were general woodiness, general sweetness, the espresso chocolate nuance from before disappeared, dark berries that used to be in the background was one of them dominant flavors, general spiciness, nutmeg and saltiness. The florality that used to alternate between the puffs was now in the background. The retrohalation tickled a bit and gave a hint of cayenne pepper.
The 3/4 tasting party with Rocky Patel The Edge 20th anniversary toro cigar continues
The texture was creamy but got a little thicker and took up more space. The flavors that emerged were woodiness mixed with a lighter shade of leafy fire, dark chocolate, leather, coffee beans, general nuttiness and saltiness. In the background, some flavors alternated between each other and gave nuances of maltiness and milkiness mixed, light floweriness and a syrup-like sweetness. Rethrohaling was slightly peppery and gave a nuanced mix of black pepper and cayenne pepper.
4/4 a good finish to the cigar
The texture was creamy but at the same time dry and the flavors I felt were dark chocolate, the dark chocolate became much darker than before, woodiness mixed with leafy fire, espresso, the saltiness took up much more space than before, dark syrup like sweetness, leather and a walnut like sweetness . The retrohale really tickled and gave a hint of leaf fire.
A leaf fire may not sound very pleasant, but it reminded me of a lovely autumn evening outside where the heat from the fire comes and the autumn leaves show their colours.
After taste
The aftertaste was dry but incredibly pleasant. The flavors it gave were dark chocolate with a hint of walnuts.

Conclusion
The Rocky Patel The Edge 20th anniversary toro cigar proved to be a complex cigar with a lot of flavor. The body that was on full suits a little more to the experienced aficionados more. Incredibly good balance between the flavors. If I compare price vs. quality vs. taste, I think you get a lot of cigar for the money.
