A cigar with flavors that are difficult to explain. It wasn’t particularly complex, but that definitely didn’t matter. The only shame was that the moment with the cigar went by too quickly.
Construction
Even though the band on the cigar had a picture of one of Sweden’s greatest kings, I got a philosophical feeling. I don’t know why, but it was like it was made for those moments when you sit by yourself and just want to be one with the cigar. The cigar was tightly rolled and incredibly light considering its size. There was a slight oiliness that wrapped around it like a blanket.
Wrapper: Habano – Binder: Esteli – Filler: Jalapa and Condega
Scent and cold draw
The wrapper had a scent of hay and general sweetness while the filler had a scent of farm yard. The cold draw gave me flavors of Sweet fruitiness and nuttiness
1/2 Lets light up the Swecigars Gustav II Adolf – The Great Era to see what it has to offer
The flavors are incredibly difficult to explain, but the cigar had a unique flavor profile that had to be felt to understand. The texture was creamy and at the same time slightly buttery. The dominant flavors were cedar, a unique fruitiness reminiscent of classic fruit salad with a hint of exotic fruits, herbs and a sweetness that is best described as a combination of vanilla sugar and honey. In the background were shades of anise and leather. The retrohalation was smooth and gave shades of white pepper and leather.
2/2 lets see how the cigar ends
When I got into the second half of the Swecigars Gustav II Adolf – The Great Era cigar, flavors were added and there were slight changes in the flavors. The texture was creamy and the flavors I felt were leather, fruitiness reminiscent of dark berries, cacao, woodiness, herbs and sweetness from earlier sweetness that is best described as a combination of vanilla sugar and honey. In the backround there were nuances of anise and hay. The retrohalation tickled the nose a little lightly and gave nuances of black pepper and hay.
After taste
Walenuts and a lighter shade of sweetness
Body
Medium
Smoke time
75 minutes
Conclusion
Swecigars Gustav II Adolf – The Great Era is a cigar with a unique flavor profile. It is not particularly complex but the flavors are prominent. The body, which is on the medium side, makes it suitable for most aficionados. If I compare price vs taste vs quality, I think it is cheap compared to what you get.
