Swecigars The Founding Father – Gustav Vasa cigar review

The cigar was not particularly complex but had an incredibly lovely balanc. A cigar easy to enjoy.

Construction

The feeling I got when I held the cigar was exactly what they wanted to convey with the cigar. A powerful royal feeling. Gustav Vasa a Swedish king who made Sweden independent from Danish rule. The cigar was firm and evenly rolled. It had an incredibly oily feel that almost felt like a thin layer of syrup. The pig tail was a unique detail and one I rarely see done this way.

Wrapper: Nicaragua – Binder: Esteli – Filler: Ometepe and Esteli

Scent and cold draw

The wrapper had an almost unique scent reminiscent of caramel syrup sweetness with undertones of hay while the filler smelled like hay. The cold brew gave me flavors of hay, milkiness, oats and general sweetness.

Let’s light up The Founding Father – Gustav Vasa cigar to see what it has to offer.

The texture of the cigar was creamy with a slight oiliness. The dominant flavors I felt were Anise, salty, dried herbs with a slight hint of hay, cacao and an almond paste-like nuttiness. In the background were nuances of general spiciness, brown sugar-like sweetness and dried fruits. The retrohalation was smooth and gave nuances of hay. The cigar wasn’t complex and the flavors I felt in the cigar were the same until the end. It was more like they were competing during the smoking process to be dominant.

Conclusion

The Founding Father – Gustav Vasa cigar has an incredibly good balance between the flavors. The cigar is great for days when you want to enjoy the flavors of a cigar without having to put all your focus on it. The body, which is on the medium side, makes it suitable for most aficionados. If I compare price vs taste vs quality, I think you get a lot of cigar for the money.
