Rocky Patel sixty toro

Rocky Patel sixty toro

Rocky Patel Sixty Toro cigar was a joy to smoke.

Cigar construction

You can se from the mighty belt that the cigar was specialy made for a celibration. They made the cigar to celibrate Rocky Patels 60th birthday. The belt that wrapped around the cigar was three-parted and gave a powerful impression. When I removed the first part of the belt, it almost felt like opening a birthday gift. I went through the cigar with critical eyes from start to finish. The cigar cost a little more than others and I expected nothing but perfection. I got more than I expected. The cigar was incredibly evenly rolled, the tobacco evenly distributed. The cigar was made in such a way that you could almost believe it was machine rolled to perfection and not by a Torcedor (The person who rolls the cigar).

Vitola: Toro – Wrapper: San andres – Binder: Nicaragua – Filler: Nicaragua

Taste Unlitt

I know it may sound strange, but the smell I smelled was incredibly good. The scent was reminiscent of a farm, a mixture of hay, grass, leather, free animals in the wild. A calming and powerful scent. After cutting the cigar, I took a few puffs in the usual order. The taste that greeted me was not surprising after what the scent had offered. It was a taste of sweet hay.

First third Rocky Patel Sixty Toro

I took out my lighter and started to toast the cigar, after a few minutes there was a nice glow and the party had begun. There was a texture that I love and am in love with, The texture of the cigar had a combination of creaminess and butteriness. With the lovely texture came a bag of flavours. My taste buds were met by fruitiness, hay and a caramel taste that went in the direction of syrup. The shade of syrup kept the fruitiness from being too sweet. In the background, shades reminiscent of dark chocolate could be found. When I got a bit into the cigar towards the end of the first third, there was a flavor that is most easily described as sweet licorice that accompanied the chocolate in the background. Between the puffs was a nuttiness reminiscent of walnuts. The retrohale was slightly peppery that tickled the nose, the taste it brought was white pepper.

Second third

The second third did not disappoint and showed the cigar’s sweet side. What I wasn’t prepared for was how the fruitiness changed. The fruitiness that used to be the general fruitiness now went in the direction of fruit caramel. That is, it became sweeter and creamier.I can’t quite put my finger on it, but there was a flavor that made me think of peach. There was a taste of sweet hay in the cigar. I don’t know if it was the combination of hay and the fruitiness that made my taste buds think of peach, but it was interesting. It brought a slight bitterness in a good way, the bitterness found in the peel. In the background I could find shades of dark chocolate and sweet licorice that balanced the cigar in an incredibly good way. The retrohalation gave a taste of white pepper and added a tickle to the nose.

Third third

Rocky Patel’s sixty toro was rounded off in an incredibly good way with the last third.  The dominant flavor now was hay.  The sweet fruitiness of the second third stepped back and became the classic general fruitiness.  That is, the cigar was not as sweet as before.  Dark chocolate and pistachio nuts were also included in the whole flavor mixture.  There was a slight bitterness like in dark chocolate that balanced well with the hay and the fruitiness.  The pistachio flavor put the finishing touch on it. I don’t usually find pistachio nuts all that often and it was incredibly pleasant.  A soft taste with a slight light sweetness and a slight light butteriness.  Retrohalation reminded me of white pepper and itched my nose a little.

Aftertaste

I don’t know what I expected from the cigar. But that it would stick around a little longer was one of those things. The aftertaste was the classic walnut taste and it disappeared quite quickly.

Body

The body of the cigar was full bodied.

Smoke time

The time it took to smoke the Rocky Patel sixty toro cigar var about 60 minutes.

I really liked the Rocky Patel sixty toro cigar. The flavors were well balanced and the feeling of holding it was powerful considering the band that wrapped around the cigar. Every part of the cigar was well thought through. It is a cigar I will smoke again.
